Jahangir Siddiqui Group History
- Jahangir Siddiqui & Co. Limited (“JSCL”) was incorporated in 1991 under the Companies Ordinance, 1984 in Pakistan as a successor to the equity and fixed income securities and corporate finance businesses established by Mr. Jahangir Siddiqui in 1970. It is now the finance holding company of JS Group and is one of the largest private sector financial services conglomerates and investment companies in Pakistan.
- JS Global Capital Limited (“JSGCL”) commercial operations began in May 2003 when JSCL spun off its agency businesses in equity, fixed income and currency brokerage, research and corporate finance to form JSGC.
- Subsequently, in December 2004, JSCL divested a 25% stake through an offer for sale (a secondary offering) and JSGC was listed on the Karachi and Islamabad Stock Exchanges.
- In 2006 Global Investment House KSCC acquired a 43.5% shareholding in JSGC for an investment of approximately USD 37 million. This transaction valued JSGC at USD 83 million at investment. JSCL continues to own 43.5% of JSGC.
